Pieces include:
Cup - 3 5/8" diameter - mark: "Arzberg 80"

Other serving sets and individual pieces available - e-mail your request or contact http://www.silkwaterantiques.com .

From the Arzberg web site: " When asked about his work, Löffelhardt replied: '... in industrial design, large-scale production is very important. In order to be able to produce on a large-scale, a shape is first of all required which is so good that it is worth duplicating...'".
Jet Set Modern says, "If you're interested in having dinnerware of the highest physical quality, with an unimpeachable Bauhaus design pedigree, you can't do better than German porcelain, and if you move now, you can have it for much less than everyone else will be paying in a year or two. Don't say we didn't tell you!" http://www.jetsetmodern.com/issue5/porcelain.htm

Famille Rose Qing Dynasty Chinese Porcelain "Good Luck" Plate

Inventory # 70622

Description: Guangxu (Kuan Hsu) 1875-1908
This beautiful Famille Rose style porcelain plate (shallow bowl) is signed with the Chinese Imperial seal indicating manufacture during the Guanxgxu period of the late Qing Dynasty of China. The rim is decorated with a modified key pattern known as the Cloud and Thunder pattern. This symbol represents good luck in the gift of rain from heaven. The key pattern surrounds a floral blossom pattern on a pink background. Five iron oxide red bats surround a central "happiness" medallion. The spoken word fu means both bat and happiness, thus the bat is a symbol of happiness. In old China a bat was kept in the house for good luck. The combination of five bats represents the five blessings: health, wealth, long life, much virtue, and a peaceful dying. The bats are also on the exterior of this plate. Excellent condition.
